Horse and Carriage Ride

I can't believe I finished two layouts in one 24-hour period!  I think that's a record for me.  This is a picture of me and Mike during our trip to Savannah in December 2011.

Details of items used in layout:  Unknown creator for template (file name blogtemplate25a.psd); all papers and elements from Studio Flergs kit Sweetness except Flerg's freebie drop shadows and white stitches from Erica Zane's little sew & sew freebie. Corbel font.

The Big 4-0

I took some pictures from my iPhone while at dinner and just thought they were too cute, so I had to scrap them.

Here are the details of the items I used: Template Designs by Lili template pack 1; all papers and elements from Karen Funk Designs' Little Boy Blue kit; Flergs drop shadow freebie; text Kalinga.

Laughter in WV

Mike and I took a little road trip to WV, and JT and Barry were kind enough to do one too so we could meet up for dinner.

Celebration

I've always liked this pic of me and Lib. It turns out it's from March 2002! I was visiting her for spring break time while she was still living in Myrtle. Can you tell the sun got a little hold on me earlier? I tried to tone down our glow and shininess. But then I decided to just go with fun bright colors and run with it!

Grandma Mabel

I always liked this photo of Grandma Mabel, so I decided this was the one to scrap today.

Training Wheels

The first of several pairs of skates. I know I had them for a while; they expanded and fit over several sizes of shoes. I had to go with a throw-back to the 70s/80s in my elements.

Halloween 2009

I went to a fun Halloween party this year. Here are just a few of the photos.

My Mom-Mom

I finally finished this layout. I had tried at least five different versions (this is the thing with me: I can't seem to quit trying to perfect the layout AND doing it digitally means that I can move things around and change it up over and over!) and finally finished. Here ya go...

Girl's Nite Out

I was stuck in the hotel and snow in Bluefield for a while, so I figured I might as well scrap.

Four Generations

I really liked this template, so I tried to find a unique set of photos to go with it. I thought this little photoshoot in spring 1975 (I've corrected it after seeing that the preview below has it at 1974) and includes four generations of my family. The cute little pic of me in my new spring coat and hat is awfully cute too! :-)

Ain't She Sweet

There are so many pics of me in my first year. I wanted a clever little way to put a bunch of them together into one layout. When I found the frame cluster for 12 pics, it was ideal. Take a look:

Girlz in the Hoodies

I've been working on this layout for Lib for a while now. She had originally told me that she wanted a black background and dark elements. I just couldn't get that to come together. I finally refocused and did a bright background but with all dark elements. I like how it [finally] came together.

homecoming

I have been stuck on what layouts to do. I decided to go through the HUGE stash of old photos of me I have, and I decided to start from the beginning. Here's my first day home from the hospital...

Putt Putt

Heatherly took some great pics at our little outting, so I thought I'd put a layout together. See what you think:

Frighteningly Cute

This is Kylie's little dog, Pimpie, in his Halloween costume. I thought this photo was too cute to pass up.

Beach Boys

I've had trouble getting some of my creative juices flowing lately. I've had about 10 different background papers with this photo, then used several different ideas and just never could get it right. I finally set about working on it again this evening, and I'm generally happy with the way it turned out. It's a picture of Molly's son, Gavin, and his little cousin Hayden floating along at the beach. See what you think...

Little Libby

I just love this adorable photo of Lib with Pooh when she wasn't quite two. Given her fondness for him to this day, I would say it's fitting. Check it out:

Sisters

It's funny, but this layout started with an entirely different picture and theme. But I really like the way the paper and the circle elements came together, so I didn't want to just pitch the whole thing and decided to replace the photo with one with more blue that would fit. I think it works well with this picture of me and Lib from Christmas last year. See what you think...

Contest

I'm back from vacation and sorting through all the blogs I normally watch throughout the week. Today I found that Flergs, one of my fave digi-scrapping designers, is holding a contest through the Growing in Grace online magazine. It's just adorable, as are all of her items. I had to give it a try to win the add-on.

The 30-somethings...

I understand that Thomas was a bit freaked by the big 3-0. However, it seems that they had a great time on their dinner to celebrate their close birthdays, so I didn't play up on that. Their pics are solos or the one random taken at arm's lengthy, but I just loved the title on the cake. Here's the layout, you can click it for bigger preview:

Silly PJs

I've always liked these photos, but I had a hard time scrapping them. I fought with the layout for a while, and in the end chose to just go with it. See what you think...

Quiz--and I dont have an accent!

I so loved this. It made me feel better since Danny and Molly and JT and just about everyone has always said that I talked differently. Well there! :-)

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Zoey

Here is my pretty kitty, Zoey, in my first layout of her. She's decided that she hates the beep the camera makes when it turns on so much so that she runs (even from a dead sleep) when I turn it on. So I have to take some pictures when she is being really lazy and just doesn't feel up to moving enough to avoid me.
Here she is...

Dress-Up

As most everyone knows (since I have told everyone about how long it took!), I scanned all the photos Mom had organized for us in wonderful photo albums that just weren't acid-free so that the photos were starting to change color a bit. It took a ton of time (told ya!) and disk space, but I do have them all scanned. When the family was at the house for Mom-Mom's funeral, I went through the drawers of photos she had collected that had never made it into albums. In that bunch, I found photos of Lib to go with the photo of me playing dress up while spending the night with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop back in 1981. I would have been 8 and Lib 5, but we both seem to have enjoyed her skirts and especially the fur stole. Now that Lib has this hand-me down (not nearly the same as your cousin's old bell bottom jeans, huh?) I thought that I would do a layout with these photos.
I'm fighting with color correction and especially the "noise" these old photos originally had that-obviously-the scanner also picks up on. I'm trying to get better at this, but for the time being I think they turned out fine.
Take a look...
